Fan creates several unique mods for The House of the Dead (MODEL 2)


Egregiousguy is one dedicated House of the Dead fan as he made several different mods to the original arcade version of The House of the Dead for the SEGA Model 2. He has managed to find ways to tinker around a few files from texture replacement to changing gameplay mechanics, these mods show the possibility for SEGA to work on updated version of The House of the Dead arcade port to modern consoles without the original source codes. Imagine a headless or dodging modes if the game was a part of another House of the Dead collection to add more replay value. Development of The House of the Dead Part 1: Characters


Taken from the Japanese SEGA Saturn Magazine #67, the AM1 team share their development stories on the original House of the Dead arcade game while the Saturn version was in development. The House of the Dredd?!: Unused HotD Assets found


NiktheGreek, Retro Gamer Writer & Sonic Retro forum member, has posted an interesting discovery while interviewing one of the artists behind the SEGA Saturn port of The House of the Dead. In the interview, the artist describes his experience working on the conversion of the game with a backup drive with all of the game’s assets. Within the backup drive, textures of Judge Dredd’s badge and Sylvester Stallone has been found along with two unused enemies with sexual gimp like designs. The Art of the Dead: The House of the Dead Fan Art Contest Extended until Jan 20th

Contest has been extended until January 20th, gives more time for more artists to submit their work and more prizes to give away.

Calling all AMS Agent with a talent of art! SEGA and The Website of the Dead have teamed up to giveaway tons of House of the Dead prizes to the fans to celebrate the release of The Typing of the Dead: Overkill.

This contest requires great artistic skills and talent. However, this is a special type of fan art contest. We want our artists to draw their favorite SEGA character into a mutant/creatures as seen in the House of the Dead universe (We don’t use the Z word, friends.)

It could be Sonic the Hedgehog, Akira Yuki, Sakura Shinguji, Vyse, Joe Musashi, Harrier or any SEGA character you can think of. The contest will start from Oct. 31st through Dec 18th.

Fans of the Dead: TheDeath’s HOTD Collection

One of our forum members, TheDeath, posted his entire House of the Dead Collection within the forums. I must say that this is the greatest collection I have ever seen in my entire life. He even has some rare HOTD merchandises from different countries. One of them happens to be a House of the Dead manga (which is one of the items I’ve been searching for the past year now). Check out his amazing collection.
